The old hospital in Larnaca will be handed over to the municipality
The old hospital in Larnaca will be handed over to the municipality. This will happen in September 2024, according to the State Health Organization (Okypy).
According to the mayor of the city, Andreas Viras, the hospital currently belongs to the state, but now the building will be transferred to the municipality. The municipality plans to lease it to accommodate several other government services.
Okypy has already informed the municipality that the issues with the wing on the second floor of the hospital have been resolved.
"It is expected that by the end of August or early September, the old hospital building will be handed over to the municipality of Larnaca," the mayor concluded.
The services currently offered in the premises of the old hospital will be transferred to the new medical facility.
The municipality hopes to begin restoration work on the old hospital in March or April 2025.
