Court Detains Suspect in Limassol House Shooting
A residential home in Limassol was targeted in a shooting early Sunday morning. The suspect has since been apprehended and appeared in court.
According to the police, the incident occurred at 5:33 AM on Sunday. Surveillance footage shows a hooded individual dressed in black approaching the home of a 52-year-old man in Agios Nikolaos. The suspect is seen standing on the road north of the house, firing two shots toward the property before fleeing the scene.
Responding officers found two bullet casings at the scene. The bullets had struck closed aluminum shutters on the windows. The homeowner indicated that the shooting might be linked to personal and financial disputes with the attacker. He even identified the alleged shooter by name.
Later that evening, investigators arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with the incident. On Monday, he appeared before the Limassol District Court. While the suspect denied the charges, the court ordered him to remain in custody for four days pending further investigation.
