Shipping propels Cyprus economy to a new level in 2025
Cyprus demonstrated robust economic development in 2025, with the shipping sector playing a key role. According to recent research, industry revenues have exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
Despite rising operating costs, the industry continues to show steady dynamics. Specifically, ship management costs reached 897 million euros, which is 0.2% higher compared to the first half of the current year.
Germany remains the main trading partner in the sector, while the USA is strengthening its position, accounting for about 4% of the cooperation structure.
Experts note that Cypriot companies maintain leading positions in full ship management, which contributes to their competitiveness in the global market.
The growth in figures testifies to the high adaptability of the industry to external challenges, including increased costs and changes in international logistics. Shipping remains one of the key drivers of the Cyprus economy, ensuring stable revenues and supporting the country's international economic ties.
Analysts predict that if current trends persist, the sector will continue to play a strategic role in the country's economic development in the coming years.
