Tragedy in Limassol: Family of Five Perishes in Devastating House Fire
A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Limassol over the weekend when a family of five, including three young children, lost their lives in a house fire.
According to police reports, the fire broke out in a residential home around 4:00 AM on Saturday. Within eight minutes, four fire crews arrived at the scene, but by then, the entire second floor was engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the remains of the victims—a 35-year-old father, a 32-year-old mother, and their three children, aged two, three, and seven. Their bodies were found in the children's bedrooms, leading authorities to believe the parents had been trying to save them.
Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical fault may have caused the fire, with the blaze originating in the living room and kitchen area. One theory is that a space heater left on overnight may have ignited the flames.
Autopsy results confirmed that all five victims died from smoke inhalation. The investigation into the exact cause of the fire is still ongoing.
