Police is searching for a migrant who fell into the sea off the coast of Cyprus
Last Sunday, three ships arrived in Cyprus, carrying a total of 190 migrants on board. One of them fell overboard, and the search for him has not been successful so far.
According to the police press service, on Sunday afternoon, three boats were found in the maritime area of Cape Greco, carrying 190 undocumented migrants. One person fell into the sea from the first boat. Drones and maritime vessels were deployed in the search for the missing person.
Investigations into the location of the immigrant remain unsuccessful to date. Searches on land and at sea are ongoing. Authorities hope that the missing migrant will be found alive.
The other undocumented migrants were safely taken to the port of Larnaca, where, after necessary procedures in such cases, they were transferred to the "Pournara" Migrant Reception Center in Kokkinotrimithia.
