Akamas Creates the Longest Coastal Promenade in Cyprus

In the municipality of Akamas, along the Peyia-Kissonerga stretch, construction is underway for the longest coastal promenade in Cyprus — its length will reach 14 kilometers. The new seaside route will enrich the region's tourist infrastructure and become a popular spot for walking, sports, and relaxation.
Work is progressing quickly, and the entire project is expected to be completed by 2026. The first two-kilometer section was opened by President Nikos Christodoulides in 2024.
According to Akamas Mayor Marinos Lambru, the €2.5 million project includes the construction of an amphitheater, an outdoor gym, a basketball court, a kiosk, and a playground. The first phase covers the stretch from the Potima Marina area to the Agios Georgios Harbor in Peyia.
Although construction is still ongoing, the promenade has already become a gathering place for hundreds of residents and tourists who come here daily for jogging, walks, or simply to enjoy the sea view.
