Another Drug Trafficker Sentenced to 12 Years in Larnaca
The Larnaca Criminal Court sentenced a 27-year-old man to 12 years in prison for smuggling 24 kilograms of cannabis into Cyprus. This is the second sentencing of large-scale drug couriers in two days.
According to police reports, the defendant arrived at Larnaca Airport from abroad on October 1. During a routine inspection, customs officers, along with members of the Drug Enforcement Unit, found 41 plastic bags in his luggage containing a total of 24 kilograms of cannabis. The man was immediately arrested, and his case was referred to the Larnaca Criminal Court, which issued the guilty verdict today.
Earlier this week, on Tuesday, the Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca sentenced a 23-year-old man to 13 years in prison for importing and possessing 25 kilograms of cannabis.
