A tragedy was narrowly avoided in Limassol: a 6-year-old girl was found unconscious at the bottom of a pool in the Tsireio area. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon during a training session as part of the “Sports for All” (ΑΓΟ) program, which involved several children.
According to preliminary information, at some point the child was noticed underwater by other participants. The girl was urgently pulled out of the pool by a lifeguard and a coach, after which first aid was administered on site. She was then taken to the hospital and later transferred to Makarios Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
The police and competent authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident, including how the girl ended up at the bottom of the pool unnoticed during training.
