New American University of Beirut Campus to Open in Paphos
A new, state-of-the-art campus of the American University of Beirut—AUB Mediterraneo—will open in Paphos. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for September 4 at 7:00 PM at the site of the former Beirut University complex, Garoupmills, on Apostolos Pavlos Avenue. The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will attend the event.
The ceremony will feature a special segment honoring Cypriot alumni of the American University of Beirut, recognizing their contributions to both the university and Cypriot society.
In addition to President Christodoulides, the event will be attended by Abdo George Kadifa, Chairman of the American University of Beirut Board of Trustees, along with board members and university leadership. U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Fisher, Mayor of Paphos Fidonas Fidonou, as well as political figures, foreign ambassadors, local officials, and other dignitaries from Cyprus and Lebanon will also be present.
The opening of the AUB Mediterraneo campus in Paphos marks a significant milestone in the storied history of the American University of Beirut. This prestigious institution is expanding its educational and social impact in the region and beyond. The Paphos campus aims to become a center for academic and cultural exchange, embodying the values of knowledge, innovation, and community engagement that define its 150-year legacy.
AUB Mediterraneo is accredited by the U.S. Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) as a branch of the American University of Beirut in Lebanon.
