Mavrokolympos reservoir partially filled after rains

Following recent rainfall, the situation with water reserves in Cyprus has slightly improved. According to the relevant services, the water level in the Mavrokolympos reservoir has risen to approximately 25% of its total capacity.
Although this figure remains low and does not resolve the problem of water scarcity, experts note that the inflow after the rains offers a cautious reason for optimism. The precipitation has helped slow the decline in reserves and temporarily stabilize the situation, especially against the backdrop of the prolonged drought of recent months.
Authorities emphasize that it is still too early to speak of normalization: a sustainable recovery of reservoirs will require significantly more rainfall and the continued implementation of water-saving measures.
