Ercan Airport expects a sharp increase in passenger traffic during the holiday week from May 25 to 31. According to the published schedule, the airport will handle a total of 823 two-way flights over the seven days.

According to research conducted by local media, air traffic intensity will significantly increase for both arrivals to and departures from the TRNC. The terminal is expected to operate at near-maximum capacity due to the large number of passengers arriving for the holidays and departing for Turkey.

Istanbul will once again be the busiest destination. 197 flights are scheduled on the route between Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Ercan, and Istanbul Airport will operate another 191 flights. Thus, the total number of flights between Istanbul and the TRNC will reach 388 for the week.

High activity is also expected on the Ankara — Ercan route, with 113 flights scheduled. Çukurova Airport continues to strengthen its position, with 104 flights planned on this route.

In addition, 81 flights are scheduled between Antalya and Ercan, as well as 78 flights on the Izmir — Adnan Menderes — Ercan route. Experts estimate that flights between Northern Cyprus and Turkey's largest cities will operate almost every hour during the holidays.

Pegasus Airlines will operate the highest number of flights, with 426 flights over the week. The main volume will be on routes through Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul. This is followed by Turkish Airlines with 177 flights and AJet with 176 flights. SunExpress will operate 44 flights.

Authorities warn of potential queues in check-in, passport control, and baggage claim areas, especially on the start and end days of the holidays. Passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport at least two hours before departure, and even earlier during peak hours.
