UBP MP emphasizes importance of supporting women in the economy on March 8
UBP Member of Parliament Sadık Gardiyanoğlu released a message on the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, highlighting the pivotal role of women in social and economic development.
In his statement, he emphasized that women are a crucial part of social and economic life, and national development is impossible without their active participation in all sectors.
Gardiyanoğlu recalled that during his tenure as Minister of Labor and Social Security, projects aimed at increasing women's participation in the economy were implemented. According to him, one of the significant initiatives was the introduction of 100% support for insurance premiums for women, which helped stimulate female employment.
Furthermore, support programs were developed for women wishing to start their own businesses. Specifically, assistance is provided to those engaged in traditional crafts, such as fishing net weaving or Karpas weaving. These entrepreneurs receive financial support and five years of assistance within the social insurance system.
The politician noted that strengthening the role of women in the economy bolsters society as a whole. He stressed that support for women should continue not just on holidays, but throughout the entire year.
Gardiyanoğlu also stated the need to continue fighting for a society where women live free from violence and have equal opportunities in all spheres of life.
