A 39-year-old resident of the Republic of Cyprus attempted to enter the TRNC in his vehicle through the Metehan checkpoint. During the inspection, customs officers discovered 160 kilograms of frozen chicken meat, which is banned from importation into the TRNC.
In response, customs, and tax officials imposed an administrative fine on the violator.
