TRNC President Meets Olympian Buse Savaşkan
TRNC President Ersin Tatar met with Buse Savaşkan, the only athlete representing Northern Cyprus at the Paris Olympics.
President Tatar mentioned that he watched Buse Savaşkan’s performance in the Olympic final via a live broadcast organized in the Presidential Garden, expressing the pride felt by Turkish Cypriots at that moment.
In his speech at the reception, the President praised Savaşkan’s achievement of representing Turkish Cypriots at the Olympics despite the embargo, calling it a "great success" and an inspiration for the youth.
Ersin Tatar extended his congratulations to the athlete, her coach, family, and all her supporters on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot people and personally wished her continued success.
In her response, Buse Savaşkan emphasized the honor she felt in representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the Olympics and expressed her gratitude to the President, all her supporters, and her entire team for their backing.
It is noteworthy that over the weekend, the TRNC athlete, competing for the Turkish national team at the Paris Olympics, finished 10th in the final, clearing a height of 1.86 meters.
Buse Savaşkan’s performance at the Olympics has been hailed as a historic achievement for the TRNC.
