Producers outraged by rise in raw milk prices: "You’ve finished off livestock farming"
Livestock farmers in Northern Cyprus sharply criticized the decision to raise raw milk prices, stating that the new conditions make production economically unviable and push the sector to the brink of survival.
According to producers, rising costs for feed, electricity, and veterinary services have long exceeded incomes, and the recent changes in pricing policy have only worsened the situation. Sector representatives say that livestock farming is rapidly losing stability, and many farms risk closure.
Producers are calling on authorities to reconsider their approach to price regulation and urgently implement support measures to prevent the industry’s ultimate collapse.
