Starting from December 1, electricity tariffs in Northern Cyprus will increase
The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kıb-Tek) has announced an increase in electricity tariffs. From December 1, the cost of electricity will rise by 7%.
According to the new rates, the increase will affect both standard and differentiated tariffs for residential, commercial, industrial, touristic, defense enterprises, government institutions, funds, universities, and casinos. However, tariffs for low-income groups will not increase at this time.
In the standard residential tariff, the price for 0–250 kilowatts per month has increased from 2.5199 TL to 2.6963 TL,
251–500 kW from 5.1986 TL to 5.5625 TL,
501–750 kW from 5.5897 TL to 5.9810 TL,
751–1000 kWh from 6.0590 TL to 6.4831 TL,
Over 1000 kWh — from 7.2321 TL to 7.7383 TL.
Tariffs for government institutions have increased from 17,1448 TL to 17,5963 TL. The university tariff is increasing from 5,1986 TL to 5,5625 TL. The casino tariff is increasing from 6,4498 TL to 6,9013 TL.
In differentiated pricing tariffs for residential customers, the price per kWh will increase as follows:
During regular hours from 07:00 to 17:00 from 5,1987 TL to 5,5625 TL,
During peak hours from 17:00 to 22:00 from 7,1919 TL to 7,6952 TL,
During off-peak hours (from 22:00 to 07:00) from 34270 TL to 36668 TL.
Recall that at the beginning of November, electricity prices increased by 15 percent.
