Tragedy in Lefka: 23-Year-Old Man Dies After Falling from Balcony

A young man has died in Lefka after falling from a balcony while trying to get into his apartment.

According to a statement from the police, the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of the morning. At around 2:00 a.m., 23-year-old Courage Chirigo attempted to access his apartment by climbing from the balcony of a neighboring unit, having forgotten his keys. During the attempt, he lost his balance and fell from a height of approximately 10.7 meters.

He was seriously injured in the fall and was initially taken to Nicosia State Hospital, before being transferred to Near East University Hospital. Despite the medical team’s efforts, his life could not be saved.

The exact cause of death will be confirmed following a post-mortem examination. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
