Turkey and Kazakhstan signed 12 cooperation agreements

Turkey and Kazakhstan are strengthening their strategic partnership: in Astana, with the participation of Presidents Erdoğan and Tokayev, 12 bilateral agreements were signed in the fields of economy, energy, investment, education, defense, and culture.
The ceremony took place after negotiations between the leaders of the two countries and the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. The heads of state also signed the "Declaration on Eternal Friendship and Partnership between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Kazakhstan."
Key documents include an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments, agreements on cooperation in the oil and gas industry between KazMunayGas and the Turkish Petroleum Corporation, as well as a memorandum on the joint development of energy projects.
The parties paid special attention to defense industry issues. An agreement was signed to establish a joint venture for the production and maintenance of ANKA drones.
Furthermore, Turkey and Kazakhstan agreed to expand cooperation in education and culture. It is planned to open two schools of the Turkish "Maarif" Foundation in Kazakhstan, as well as to launch a joint scholarship program between the relevant ministries of the two countries.
The signed documents also include an investment agreement for the development of Almaty International Airport, a memorandum of cooperation between the Astana International Financial Centre and the Istanbul Financial Center, as well as agreements in the field of media and legal assistance.
The signed agreements confirm the course of Ankara and Astana toward deepening economic and political ties, as well as the development of joint projects in key sectors.
