Archangelos Michael Icon Museum Preparing to Reopen in Girne

After a long hiatus, the Archangelos Michael Icon Museum in the Girne Ancient Harbour area is preparing for its grand reopening.
The resumption of operations was announced by Deputy Minister of Tourism Serhan Aktunç. According to him, the project is being implemented through a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism, the Girne Municipality (Belediyesi), and representatives from the private sector.
The work will be carried out under the supervision of the Department of Antiquities. The museum had remained closed for a long time and was in need of renovation.
With the support of Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul and private investors, the site is planned to welcome visitors again in the near future.
The Archangelos Michael Icon Museum is considered one of Girne's key cultural landmarks. Its reopening is seen as a significant step in preserving historical heritage and developing tourism in the region.
