Nine people with disabilities in Lefkoşa received professions and started working
Nine individuals over 18 with disabilities successfully completed training in barista and kitchen practices and received official certificates. After the training, they began working at the municipal café Yeni Dünya +1 Cafe in Lefkoşa.
Of the program participants, four completed barista training, and five completed kitchen training. Certificates were presented at a formal ceremony held at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment.
The training program was implemented at the Yeni Dünya Barrier-Free Activity Center and was the result of cooperation between the Lefkoşa municipality and relevant ministries.
Speaking at the ceremony, officials emphasized that professional training and real employment of people with disabilities are important steps toward their full integration into society. It was noted that such projects not only provide a profession but also open pathways to further employment, including in the private sector.
The organizers highlighted that the program is an example of a successful social initiative and should continue so that even more people have the opportunity for an independent and dignified life.
