Man accused of sexual assault on a 16-year-old intern in Lefkoşa

In Lefkoşa, the court heard a case of sexual assault involving a man holding a work permit.
According to police, on the morning of January 2, 2026, in a women’s hair salon on Atatürk Street, the accused kissed a 16-year-old intern on the cheek and head. The complaint was filed the following day, after which the suspect was arrested.
The investigation has been completed. The court ordered the accused to be released under strict conditions:
- a ban on leaving the country;
- mandatory weekly reporting to the police;
- 50,000 Turkish lira in cash bail;
- two sureties of 1 million lira each.
