Museum Week with free admission and cultural events to take place in TRNC

The Department of Antiquities and Museums under the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment has announced the program of events for Museum Week, which will be held from May 18 to 24.
The main goal of the initiative is to popularize museums and archaeological sites, increase public interest in cultural heritage, and build historical awareness among youth. The program includes tours, workshops, concerts, competitions, and educational events.
The official opening of Museum Week will take place on May 18 at 9:30 AM with a parade from the Kyrenia Gate. On this day, admission to all museums and archaeological sites under the department's management will be free.
On the evening of May 18 at 8:00 PM, a concert titled "The Spirit of May 19 in the Museum," dedicated to national anthems and the favorite works of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, will be held. Another concert will take place on May 19 at Bellapais Abbey.
On May 20, the Porta Del Mare ("Sea Gate") art gallery will open, along with an award ceremony for the winners of a children's panel competition themed "Cultural Heritage of My City."
On May 21, a ceramics workshop organized jointly with ARUCAD will take place at Kyrenia Castle. On the same day, a separate workshop for children will be held in Famagusta.
On May 22, an event dedicated to archaeological excavations is scheduled in Nicosia, and Museum Week will conclude on May 24 with an acoustic concert by the band Melatonin Young at Kyrenia Castle.
Furthermore, throughout the week, thematic lessons dedicated to museums and the island's cultural heritage will be held in Nicosia schools.
