“Environmental Watchers” Project Launched in the TRNC
The Environmental Technical Committee of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has officially launched a new initiative titled “Environmental Watchers.” As part of the project, two upcoming seminars will bring together nature conservation experts to explore some of the most urgent environmental challenges facing the world today.
According to an announcement shared by Taskent Nature Park on social media, the focus will be on the climate crisis and the threats to biodiversity.
The first seminar, “The Climate Crisis: How It Affects Our Daily Lives,” will be held on April 25, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Ledra Palace Hotel in Nicosia, in cooperation with the environmental organization Terra Cypria.
The second seminar, “Threats to Biodiversity: Challenges and Strategies,” will take place on April 26, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Home for Cooperation in Nicosia, supported by Taskent Nature Park.
Both events aim to help participants better understand environmental threats and learn how to raise awareness within their communities.
The seminars are organized under the “Environmental Defenders” project, an initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with OSASG-Cyprus.
