The Cyprus Electricity Authority warns of a new wave of phishing emails

In recent days, there has been an increase in phishing emails disguised as notifications from the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). Recipients are told that their bill “is ready in electronic form” and are prompted to follow a link to make a payment.
The EAC clarifies that it has no connection to these messages and classifies them as an attempt at electronic fraud. The organisation urges users to be cautious with emails containing links or attachments, as they may lead to malicious websites, regardless of how the sender and the email layout appear.
