The Municipality of Paphos has carried out temporary repair work on a section of the promenade where ground subsidence had previously occurred.
The problematic section is located in front of the Almyra Hotel on the coastal pedestrian walkway.
According to Acting Mayor Angelos Onisiforou, the work was conducted to ensure pedestrian safety and normal use of the promenade until a final solution is implemented.
The municipality noted that a comprehensive project for permanent restoration is currently being developed, taking into account the characteristics of the coastal zone and erosion processes.
Authorities also stated that the situation will be under constant monitoring to ensure the promenade remains safe for residents and tourists.
