Cyprus University launches first English-language interuniversity bachelor's programme
The Cabinet of Ministers of Cyprus has approved the first English-language interuniversity bachelor's programme of the University of Cyprus. This was announced by the university's rector, Professor Tassos Christofides.
This refers to the YUFE Bachelor in Urban Sustainability Studies programme, developed within the European alliance Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE). Studies will begin in September 2026.
According to the rector, the launch of the programme was the first step in implementing the new legislative framework that allows Cyprus's public universities to expand English-language teaching and strengthen international cooperation.
Christofides noted that the university intends to continue developing competitive programmes focused on internationalisation and the modern needs of the labour market. He stressed that the University of Cyprus is «opening up to the world even more».
The new programme will focus on urban sustainability and will combine interdisciplinary learning, international academic experience and practical approaches to solving contemporary urban challenges.
The university said that more detailed information about the programme and admission requirements will be published in the near future.
