Cyprus recalls Lat Bri mozzarella from sale

The Ministry of Health of Cyprus has announced the withdrawal of mozzarella cheese under the Lat Bri brand from the market after receiving a notification from the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).
The recall was prompted by an incident in Italy, where a consumer found a piece of metal wire inside a package of cheese. The manufacturer immediately initiated the recall to eliminate any risk to consumer health.
The specific product batch affected is: Lat Bri, 125 g, batch number N5205D, best before 22 August 2025. The Ministry of Health strongly advises against consuming this product. Consumers who have purchased it are urged to return it to the store where it was bought.
The authorities stressed that even isolated cases of foreign objects found in food pose a serious health hazard, and therefore recall measures are taken to protect the public.
