Limassol continues a large-scale strengthening of its water supply system. The city's Water Board has announced new tenders for the construction of water reservoirs and pumping stations in several areas to ensure a stable supply of drinking water and cover the growing needs of the population.

According to the board's statement, tenders have already been announced through the electronic procurement system for the construction of two reservoirs with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters each in the Mesa Geitonia and Fasoula areas. In addition, a large reservoir with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters is planned for the Paniotis area in Germasogeia.

Authorities also reported significant progress on projects already underway. The completion of reservoirs in Germasogeia (4,000 cubic meters) and in the Agia Phyla area (800 cubic meters) is expected in May.

Previously, work on reservoirs in Sikaminou, Agios Athanasios, and Kato Polemidia, each designed to store up to 2,000 cubic meters of water, was fully completed.

In addition, a new tender is being prepared for the construction of six more Glass Lined Steel (GLS) type reservoirs with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters each, as well as additional pumping stations in the Agios Athanasios and Fasoula areas.

The board emphasizes that the implementation of these projects will increase the stability of the water supply system, reduce the risk of interruptions, and provide water to new residential areas of Limassol amidst the city's continued growth.
