Paphos Municipality registers its 36,000th marriage

Paphos Municipality announced that it had reached an important symbolic milestone — the 36,000th marriage has now been officially registered in the city. The authorities called this event confirmation of Paphos’ international popularity as one of the leading wedding destinations in the Mediterranean.

As noted in the municipality’s statement, for many years thousands of couples from all over the world have been choosing Paphos for their wedding ceremonies thanks to its combination of favorable climate, scenic landscapes, cultural heritage and convenient administrative procedures.

The municipality emphasized that each registration — is a separate love story, as well as a contribution to the development of the city’s tourism sector. Over the years, the municipal marriage system has become an important part of the region’s economy, bringing newlyweds, their families and guests from different countries to Paphos.

The authorities expressed gratitude to the staff of the Civil Marriages Department, representatives of the tourism industry and all partners involved in developing wedding tourism.

The municipality also said it intends to continue modernizing its services and creating the most comfortable conditions possible for future newlyweds, so that wedding ceremonies in Paphos remain a memorable event for couples from all over the world.
