Fuel prices expected to drop in Cyprus in the coming days
The Cyprus Consumer Protection Service has recorded signs of a possible reduction in fuel prices in the near future. This was announced by the director of the agency, Constantinos Karageorgis, noting that this could particularly affect diesel fuel.
According to Karageorgis, the service's specialists analyze the situation on international markets daily, including import prices and oil price dynamics. Although the agency avoids direct forecasts, current indicators point to the likelihood of a slight decrease in retail prices in the coming days.
At the same time, authorities emphasize that the global fuel market situation remains unstable. One of the reasons for the ongoing fluctuations is events and statements related to the war in Iran, which affect both the cost of crude oil and refinery prices.
As the director of the service noted, the recent decline in the Platts index is already starting to be reflected in the domestic market, primarily in the diesel fuel segment. The agency continues to monitor the situation closely and promises to respond promptly to any cases of unjustified price increases or actions that could harm consumers.
