Night raids across the country: Police stepped up control and conducted mass checks
Cyprus Police conducted large-scale night operations in key urban areas aimed at preventing crime and maintaining public order.
During coordinated patrols, three people were detained on various charges, including theft, conspiracy to commit a crime, and interference with the judicial process.
Particular attention was paid to road safety. Police checked 201 drivers and 96 passengers. As a result, 90 fines were issued for traffic violations, and investigations were launched into seven cases. Among the most frequent violations was speeding, recorded in 19 cases.
In parallel, 51 alcohol tests were conducted: one driver was prosecuted for drunk driving. Another three drivers were found to be under the influence of narcotics. Three vehicles were also seized during the checks.
In addition, police inspected 47 establishments, issuing eight reports for identified violations.
Law enforcement authorities emphasize that such operations are preventive in nature and aimed at increasing the safety level of citizens. Increased police presence and regular checks will continue.
