Serious accident in Limassol on New Year’s Eve: father and two children injured
New Year celebrations in Limassol ended in a serious road traffic accident in which a family with children was injured. As a result of the crash, the father and two minors were hurt, with one child reported to be in critical condition — the child was admitted to the intensive care unit.
The accident occurred in the first hours of the new year. Police and ambulance crews immediately arrived at the scene. The injured were urgently taken to hospital, where doctors are fighting to stabilize the child’s condition.
The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated. Police are determining what led to the collision and are checking for possible traffic violations.
The incident once again served as a reminder that New Year’s Eve remains one of the most dangerous periods on the island’s roads — even a short trip can end in tragedy.
