Man detained in Limassol after discovery of large cannabis batch

Limassol police detained a 39-year-old man on suspicion of drug possession following a search that uncovered packages of cannabis and electronic scales.
According to police, Drug Squad officers searched the suspect's home based on a judicial warrant. Inside the dwelling, law enforcement found a package containing approximately four grams of cannabis.
During a further inspection of the surrounding area, another nine packages containing the narcotic substance were found. The total weight of the seized cannabis was approximately 327 grams. In addition, police seized electronic scales with drug traces, which may indicate the substance was being prepared for distribution.
The 39-year-old man was detained at the scene on suspicion of drug possession crimes. He was later arrested by court order to continue the investigation.
The investigation is being conducted by the Limassol police department. Police are determining the origin of the drugs and checking the detainee's possible involvement in other cases of illegal trafficking of prohibited substances.
