Yesterday the issue of Cyprus joining the Schengen Area was raised

DIKO MP Chryssis Pantelides announced that the issue of Cyprus joining the Schengen Area was raised yesterday in the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign and European Affairs.
Pantelides congratulated the government on the successful steps taken toward Schengen membership, stating that joining the Schengen Area would make the citizens of the “Republic of Cyprus” equal to other citizens, and that travel and business activities would become easier.
Pantelides expressed hope that the examination of the relevant bill will be completed as soon as possible and forwarded to Parliament for approval.
