A Greek Cypriot Died in a Traffic Accident with a Bus in the TRNC
A fatal traffic accident occurred in Northern Cyprus. An elderly Greek Cypriot died in a collision with a bus.
According to the police press service, the accident happened yesterday around 13:30 between 1 and 2 kilometers on the Büyükkonuk - Kaplıca highway. The elderly Cypriot resident, Fotis Fotiu, was driving his pickup truck towards the Balalan roundabout when he turned right and collided with a car and a bus traveling in the opposite direction.
The injured pickup truck driver was taken to Famagusta State Hospital with severe injuries. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the elderly man could not be saved. Also, a passenger in the same car was injured in the accident. She is under medical observation.
The bus driver has been arrested. The police investigation into the accident is ongoing.
