Meteorologists predict a rainy weekend in Northern Cyprus

The Department of Meteorology has presented the weather forecast for the period from May 1 to May 7, 2026. According to official data, in the coming days, the region will be under the influence of a low-pressure system and masses of cool, moist air. The main changes in weather conditions are expected at the end of this week.

On Saturday and Sunday, partly cloudy skies accompanied by heavy showers are forecast across the entire island. On Saturday, May 2, precipitation is expected in the afternoon, while on Sunday, May 3, rain is possible throughout the day. With the start of the new work week on Monday, the influence of moist air masses will persist, which may also lead to local showers.

Temperatures during this period will correspond to seasonal norms. In the interior of the island and on the coast, thermometers will fluctuate between 24–27 degrees Celsius. Winds are expected mainly from southern and western directions, of moderate strength, with occasional gusts during the rain. Residents are advised to take the forecast into account when planning outdoor activities for the upcoming weekend.
