Maritime and Cabotage Day Celebrations in Northern Cyprus
Today, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the 98th Maritime and Cabotage Day is being celebrated. Ceremonial events in honor of the holiday will take place in Famagusta and Kyrenia.
In Kyrenia, the festivities began at 09:00 in front of the Atatürk Monument. After the wreath-laying ceremony at the monument, a minute of silence was observed, and flags were raised as the National Anthem played. Guests also enjoyed an evening of poetry.
The ceremony in Famagusta also started at 09:00 with the laying of wreaths at the Victory Monument. Following the flag-raising ceremony, a minute of silence was held, followed by the national anthem.
The ceremony concluded with a performance by Lieutenant Yigit Delis from the Naval Command of Famagusta.
It is noteworthy that Turkish military ships will arrive in Northern Cyprus today to participate in the celebrations. They will be open for visitation on July 1st at the ports of Kyrenia and Famagusta.
