Lefke to host 14th memorial walk to the 'Orchid Valley' in honor of Birkan Uzun

On Sunday, May 10, the 14th annual walk to the 'Orchid Valley' observation deck will take place in the Lefke district, organized in memory of Turkish Cypriot mountaineer Birkan Uzun. The event is hosted by the Denizli-Gemikonağı Development Association and has already become a traditional meeting for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
The organizers invite everyone to take part in the free walk, which brings together people interested in hiking trails and the natural attractions of the region. Participant gathering is scheduled at the entrance to the European University of Lefke (LAU) campus at 9:00, and the hike will start at 10:00.
The walk is dedicated to the memory of Birkan Uzun, who died in 2021 as a result of an accident during a skiing trip in the USA. His name has become a symbol of love for mountains and an active lifestyle for the local community.
