More than 300 traffic violations detected in TRNC in 24 hours

The TRNC police have summarized the results of large-scale road checks conducted across the country. Over a 24-hour period, traffic police officers inspected 2,012 drivers and recorded 328 traffic violations. As a result of the raids, 45 vehicles were confiscated, and two drivers were arrested.
According to the police press office, the most common violation was speeding — 111 such cases were recorded. Additionally, 12 drivers were found operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol, and three individuals were caught driving without a license and insurance.
Furthermore, the police registered eight cases of lack of insurance, 11 instances of mobile phone use while driving, and nine violations related to unfastened seat belts. Another 12 drivers were operating vehicles without a valid technical inspection, and 31 without an up-to-date navigation license.
Separately, one violation of public transport operating permit conditions was reported. The remaining 130 cases related to various other traffic rule violations.
The police emphasized that such raids will continue in the future. Law enforcement officials state that increased control is aimed at reducing the accident rate and improving safety on the country's roads.
