Cyprus lags slightly behind the EU in business digitalization
Cypriot companies continue to adopt digital technologies, but the country still remains slightly below the European average. According to new Eurostat data for 2025, 51.09% of enterprises in Cyprus use specialized e-business applications — ERP, CRM, or BI systems. The average for the European Union stands at 53.47%.
These refer to software for enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and business data analysis. Eurostat notes that the use of such solutions is directly linked to the size of the business.
The largest gap is observed between small and large enterprises. Across the EU on average, ERP systems are used by 41% of small companies and 89% of large ones. BI analytical tools are utilized by only 11% of small enterprises compared to 69% of large ones. CRM systems are used by 25% of small companies and 65% of large ones.
The leaders in digital solution adoption are Denmark and Finland, with 73% of enterprises each. They are followed by Belgium and the Netherlands at 70%, and Spain at 66%.
The lowest figures were recorded in Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia.
Experts note that digitalization is becoming a key factor in business competitiveness, especially amid the active development of artificial intelligence and process automation.
