The Statistical Service of Cyprus reported a continued rise in the prices of construction materials. In April 2026, the price index reached 120.67 points with the base level of 2021 = 100, increasing by 0.64% compared to March.

In annual terms, the growth amounted to 1.38%, and for the period from January to April, the index was approximately 1% higher than the figures for the same period in 2025.

The largest increase was recorded in the category of electromechanical products — prices rose by 2.29%. Metallic products increased in price by 1.81%, wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics — by 1.76%. Growth was also noted in the category of minerals (1.59%) and mineral products (0.06%).

Experts note that the rising cost of construction materials continues to put pressure on the construction sector and the real estate market. Despite the overall slowdown in inflation, the rising cost of raw materials and equipment maintains high expenses for construction companies and private developers.

Against the backdrop of continuing price increases, industry representatives warn that additional costs may affect both the cost of new real estate properties and the prices of renovations and infrastructure projects.
