Military Jets Soar Over Nicosia: What’s Going On?
Military aircraft were spotted flying over Nicosia this morning, prompting questions from residents about the unusual activity in the skies above the capital.
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the flights are part of scheduled military exercises.
According to the official statement, on May 5, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, military drills are being carried out in Nicosia as part of ongoing defence cooperation between the Republic of Cyprus and allied nations. The exercises include fighter jet operations within the Nicosia Flight Information Region (FIR).
