Suspect detained in Nicosia in armed robbery case

Cyprus Police have detained a 32-year-old man as part of an investigation into a robbery and knife attack that occurred in a district of Nicosia.
According to law enforcement authorities, the incident took place on the evening of May 9 at around 20:00. According to the victim's statement, two unknown men approached him and demanded money. During the attack, one of the perpetrators drew a knife and inflicted a minor wound on the man, while the second struck him on the arm with a wooden object.
Afterward, the attackers stole a wallet containing cash and fled the scene.
During the investigation, officers from the Ledra police station identified one of the suspects. The man was detained on the evening of May 13. He is expected to appear in court today, where police will request a warrant for his further remand in custody.
The investigation continues, and police are searching for the second participant in the attack.
