Third suspect detained in Paphos arson series case
Paphos police have detained a 22-year-old man as part of an investigation into a series of arsons that occurred in the region in the spring of 2026.
According to law enforcement authorities, the arrest was carried out by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID/TAE) on the basis of a judicial warrant.
The suspect is linked to four incidents that took place in March and April: a car arson on March 25, a building arson on April 4, another car arson on April 6, as well as an attempted building arson on April 15.
Previously, on April 15, police had already detained two people in connection with the same case — a 41-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman.
Investigators are considering a possible link between all the incidents and continue to clarify the circumstances of what happened, as well as the motives of the suspects.
The police noted that the investigation is ongoing, and the Paphos CID continues to gather evidence and check the possible involvement of the detainees in other similar cases in the region.
