Five people detained in Paphos after major drug seizure

Paphos police detained five people on suspicion of drug possession and trafficking following an operation in the Kato Paphos area. Among those detained are three men and two women, including a minor girl.
The operation took place in the evening around 19:50 with the participation of officers from the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN), the Organized Crime Department, and the traffic police. Law enforcement stopped a vehicle containing a 54-year-old driver, a 27-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old girl — all residents of Paphos.
After the vehicle was stopped, the 27-year-old passenger tried to flee but was detained nearby. During a search, approximately 83 grams of cocaine were found on him, along with 3,050 euros and 70 pounds sterling in cash.
During further searches of the vehicle and the other passengers, police seized about 4 more grams of cocaine, 183 grams of cannabis, 19 grams of "magic mushrooms," half a gram of methamphetamine, electronic scales, and other evidence.
All five were arrested on suspicion of offenses related to illegal drug possession. The suspects have been taken into custody, and the investigation is being continued by members of the anti-drug unit and the Paphos traffic police.
