Cypriot authorities prepare new measures to solve Limassol's transport problems

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works of the Republic of Cyprus is beginning coordination with the Limassol municipality to promote priority infrastructure projects and reduce the traffic burden in the region.
According to Minister of Transport Alexis Vafeades, a working meeting is scheduled for May 25 with the mayors of Limassol, Kourion, Polemidia, and Amathus, as well as the heads of the Parekklisia and Pyrgos communities. The meeting will be held at Limassol City Hall.
The main topic of the meeting will be proposals and projects that can be implemented in the short and medium term to improve traffic flow and daily mobility for residents.
The ministry notes that the initiative is part of a broader plan to combat transport problems in the country's urban areas. The authorities intend to work with local governments to identify priority measures for modernizing the road network, reducing congestion, and developing public transport.
Special attention is planned for sustainable mobility, improving transport infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of travel for residents and visitors to the region.
It is expected that the meeting will establish a basis for the implementation of practical projects aimed at reducing inconvenience for citizens and increasing the efficiency of Limassol's transport system.
