The TRNC Ministry of National Education issued an official statement regarding allegations of sexual harassment made against a teacher at Hala Sultan Theology College. The ministry said that administrative and legal procedures were launched immediately after information about the incident was received.

As the Director of the General Secondary Education Department, Yusuf Inaniroğlu, stated, the situation was treated from the very beginning with “the utmost seriousness and sensitivity.” Two inspectors were appointed to clarify the circumstances and are conducting a comprehensive administrative investigation.

The ministry stressed that the safety and psychological well-being of students remain an absolute priority. After the allegations emerged, the teacher was immediately suspended from duty at the school, and the relevant parties were informed about the process.

At the same time, a judicial process was initiated. According to the ministry, the school administration and the parents went to the police on the same day the alleged incident became known.

The statement emphasizes that the case is under the jurisdiction of the judicial authorities and that all circumstances are being carefully examined by the relevant bodies. The ministry noted that it will not allow any negligence or delay in the investigation.

“We are closely following every stage of the process and ensuring that all necessary measures are taken in the interests of children,” the ministry said.
