Undeclared gold and precious stones seized at Ercan Airport
The TRNC Customs and Excise Department reported the seizure of undeclared commercial consignments of gold and precious stones at Ercan Airport.
According to the department's official statement, the valuables were discovered during a customs inspection. After verification and investigation, specialists determined that the market value of the seized precious metals and stones is about 467,000 Turkish lira.
All the goods were confiscated in accordance with current legislation. In addition, the offender was issued an administrative fine amounting to three times the estimated value of the seized goods.
The customs service emphasized that checks at Ercan Airport are continuing under heightened monitoring, and attempts to bring in undeclared commercial goods will be stopped within the law.
