In Kyrenia, a public blood donation campaign is taking place

A public blood donation campaign has started in Kyrenia. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health and the Blood Donor Recruitment Department for Thalassemia.

The blood donation event, under the slogan "One Drop of Blood Saves Lives," is organized today from 10:00 to 16:00 at the new municipal building in Kyrenia.

Those willing to donate blood can contact the Department of Social Affairs located in the municipal service building.

It is worth reminding that at the end of December, the Union of Turkish Cypriot Nurses and Midwives (KTHES) appealed to the public to donate blood. The country is experiencing a shortage of all blood groups.

Patients suffering from thalassemia are especially in acute need of blood from all groups. Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder characterized by a decrease in the production of hemoglobin.
