The Limassol Marathon expects 17 thousand participants
The traditional OPAP Limassol Marathon will take place in Limassol on April 13th and 14th. Organizers expect that this year about 17 thousand people will participate in the races.
The event is organized annually by the Limassol Municipality, the Limassol Chamber of Commerce, the Tourism Board (Etal), and the sponsoring company Eleven Blue Events.
According to Limassol Mayor Nikos Nicolaides, the team behind this largest sports event in Cyprus stands out for its professionalism, foresight, and social sensitivity.
It is expected that out of the 17 thousand participants lining up at the start this year, about three thousand will be foreigners from more than 70 countries.
Part of the proceeds from this year's marathon will go towards Limassol's bid for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2030.
It is noted that in 2023, about 15 thousand runners participated in the races.
